This summer, we will introduce some recommended mountain climbing spots in Yamanashi that even beginners can enjoy. There are a variety of courses that even beginners can try with ease, and you can fully enjoy the magnificent scenery and pleasant mountain air. 【Mt.Chausu and Mt.Shimakare】Yatsugatake mountain climbing is recommended for beginners! Chausu and Mt. Shimagare with a spectacular view of the green carpet!

Located on Kita-Yatsugatake, this mountain is 2,384 meters above sea level. To the north of this mountain is Mt. Shimagare, famous for the Shimagare phenomenon. Shimagareyama (縞枯山) is famous for the Shimagare phenomenon. (Shimagare is a phenomenon in which subalpine coniferous forests die in bands that move slowly toward the summit of the mountain.) As a result, from a distance, the stripes appear white.

Climbing Route Introduction

I wanted to climb a mountain that wasn’t too hard, so here I am! I wanted to climb a mountain that wasn’t too hard, so here I am! You can climb up to about 2,000m at a time, so it takes less than 2 hours to get to the top, which is a good amount of time for a fun climb! It is very easy to climb with few steep parts, so even beginners can do it (there were many older people there…)! (There were many elderly people there!) You can enjoy the world of moss while climbing, even if you can’t see the view from the top. And the view from the top is spectacular, like a green carpet!

【Mt. Hinata】 Spectacular view of white sandy beaches stretches to the top of the mountain! Even beginner climbers can go!

Mt. Hyuga (elevation 1,660 m) is a mountain located in the middle of the ridge connecting Mount Kaikomagatake and Mount Nokodake in the Southern Alps. Although the area around the summit is covered with trees, Mt. Hyuga is characterized by a spot called “Gan-gahara,” or “white sand beach in the sky. Gan-ga-hara is a rough terrain of exposed granite that offers a beautiful sight that is hard to believe is the summit of a mountain. Above all, it is easy to climb, even for beginners, so it is highly recommended!

Climbing Route Introduction

Mt. Hinata is gentle and very easy to climb, even for beginners! The white sand and stone towers at the top of the mountain are so beautiful that I had never seen such a view before, so I was very impressed! Anyway, it is great to be able to see such a spectacular view even though it only takes about 1,660 meters and an hour and a half to climb!

The Yatateishi parking lot can hold only about 14 cars, so you should go there first thing in the morning!

【Mt.KitaYokodake】 Recommended for beginners in mountain climbing! Spectacular views spread from the Yatsugatake mountain range to the Alps!

Yokodake in Kita-Yatsugatake along with Mt. Tateshina is called “Kita-Yokodake” to distinguish it from Yokodake. The view from the south peak is magnificent of the mountains of the Yatsugatake main range. The Southern Alps, the Central Alps, and the Northern Alps mountain range can also be seen. On the summit of the mountain, plants such as Japanese spruce and rhododendrons spread out, and on the route along the rocky sea, moss and Japanese white pine can be seen. There are various routes to the summit, but once you use the ropeway, it takes only about two hours to reach the summit, making it a good mountain for beginners.
