Mountain Climbing Experience

I climbed one of the 100 most famous mountains in Fukushima! We did not use the ropeway for the ascent, but enjoyed the climb because it was less steep and the scenery was open for a longer period of time! It is best to use the ropeway on the way back! There were many beginners, so anyone can easily climb this mountain!

07:20 Mt. Adatara Okudake trailhead (Mt. Adatara ropeway)
It was very gassy and we were worried about the weather at the summit, but we started climbing….

A gentle mountain path continues at the beginning of the climb.

About 20 minutes into the climb.
We had used the “carriage road” to climb up to take a shortcut, but the ground was very muddy and difficult to climb up, partly because it had rained the day before….

It took us only about 30 minutes to get through the most difficult mountain trail of the climb! The scenery opened up in no time!

08:40 Kurogane Hut
This hut is located below Mt. It was closed that day…unfortunately.
Click here for details of Kurogane Hut.

09:00 Spectacular view of the Iron Mountain and its beautiful ridge line

You can see the summit of Mt. Adatara on the left!

09:35 Numanodaira Crater (about 2 hours after starting the ascent)
This is a huge crater created by the great eruption of 1900! The view, which looks like the surface of the moon, is breathtaking!

The ridgeline leading to the summit of Adatara-yama, doesn’t it look like Mars?

The ridge line leading to Mt! It is gassy but spectacular!

The peak of Mt. Adatara is visible in the back! Also known as Mt.

From the spot where the Numanodaira crater can be seen earlier, it is a 15-minute climb along a gentle k-ridge to the summit!

10:10 Summit of Mt. Adatara (elevation 1,700m)
Because of the low visibility, we could not see Mt. Bandai, the Zao mountain range, the Iide mountain range, or Lake Inawashiro….

Information on nearby hot springs

After descending the mountain, go to “Okudake-no-yu,” a 1-minute walk from the parking lot.

It was a delicious ramen that was light and blew away the fatigue of mountain climbing!

Directly sold soft serve ice cream from Adatara Chichi Co.
To put it mildly, it is exquisite!
